A part of the video seems to be cut. We will check on it. Thank you for bringing it to our notice.
Here are the steps for the recipe.
1. Add Agar agar powder/ gelatin to water and let stand for 1 minute.
2. Stir over simmering heat until dissolved and the paste thickens
3. Add corn syrup and shortening and stir till dissolved.
4. Strain this mixture and let cool a little.
5. Attach mixer bowl to mixer platform. Add the icing sugar and tylose powder.
6. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix to combine. At first the mixture will be very soft, beat on medium speed about 5 minutes. The mixture will stiffen up. A plastic scrapper helps remove the sticky, gooey mixture.
7. Place in a greased airtight covered container.
For easy sugar flowers what r the tools we require? And these flowers are of fondant or gum paste…if the material are available then can attend the workshop
The most basic tools for flower making will suffice. We will be working with gumpaste in class.
Foam pad, ball tools, rolling pin, brushes, cornflour, shortening, Dresden tool, multipurpose veiner, sharp blade
Petal dusts, gumpaste.

I tried this recipe. For the first time I had baked a very good cake nice and spongy. I don’t know where I went wrong the cake had a slight smell of egg. What can be done for that.
Not sure of which colour you are asking about.
But in any case, You can colour the gumpaste in the colour you wish and make the peony and dust on top if required..
Regarding gum paste, I donβt get Gum tragacanth here so an I use fondant ? Also I have a packet of gum paste ( powder form ) which I bought from a bakining store in Canada ! a can I use this ?
Is glucose and corn syrup same as I have only corn syrup here.
You can substitute tylose powder for gum tragacanth
Yes, you can try the gumpaste you bought as well.
Liquid Glucose and Corn syrup is not the same but can be used interchangeably while making Gumpaste. Do check on the consistency though. Reduce amount of water in the recipe if your corn syrup is more liquid in consistency than glucose.
Thank you for your reply. I made the dough out of the gum paste but itβs almost 500gms. How long can this be stored ? I have double wrapped it in zip lock bags. I will only be using some to do practice. Also can the gum paste flowers be stored for later use ?

In the recipe you have not mentioned Cornflour. What is the quantity of cornflour in the dry mixture?
There is no cornflour added in the Vanilla Sponge with condensed milk recipe.
