Who We Are
An award winning cake artist, Ashwini, is the name behind “The Dream Cakes”. She has been working on Cake Art for more than a decade and her style of decorating cakes is unique and has been acknowledged across the globe. Her forte lies in creating realistic- looking Sugar Flowers.
She is an Approved Teacher by the prestigious International Cake Exploration Society, ICES
An innovator, she is the Pioneer to have started India’s first Online Cake Academy in 2012 and since then she has trained thousands of students in Virtual demonstrations and workshops.
Apart from her own academy, The Dream Cakes, Ashwini’s Tutorials have also been featured and are a part of the Cakeflix and Sugar Street Studios – Cake Decorating Academies in the UK.
Along with this, she has also held classes and demonstrations at various Cake shows.
She was also instrumental in launching Sugar Magazine, India’s first cake art magazine to showcase and promote the immense talent in India.
She has been awarded the Top 10 Cake Artist in India by Cake Masters Magazine, UK, for 2 years in a row, in their inaugural year 2017 and the following year 2018.
Ashwini was the finalist in the prestigious Cake Masters Magazine Awards 2018 and 2019, aka Cake Oscars, in the Sugar Flowers Category. This program recognizes talent from across the globe and select top 4-5 artists for each category across the world. Ashwini was selected to be one of these top artists for 2 years in a row.
She has been on the judging panel for Cake awards and competitions across the globe (Indian Cake Awards, Top 100 India Homebakers Awards, ByBora International Online Competition, Sri Lanka Cake Awards and many more ).
She has been featured in many National/International magazines, newspapers and TV Shows.
Ashwini was a part of the team of Artists to work on the Incredible India Welcome display at Cake International, Birmingham, UK – 2019 and 2022.
She is also the WINNER of Cake Masters Magazine Awards 2022 a.k.a CAKE OSCARS for Sugar Flowers Category!!
Awards and Recognition
Winning the runner’s up in Students wedding cake competition 2006 at the French Pastry school, Chicago, paved the way for Ashwini in the field of Cake Decorating.
Best in Division and Best in Category award at the New England Cake Show (Connecticut Cake Competition) in 2009 boosted her morale.
She has been awarded the Top 10 Cake Artist in India by Cake Masters Magazine, UK in their inaugural year 2017 and the following year 2018.
She was also the finalist for 2 consecutive years in the prestigious Cake Masters Magazine Awards 2018 and 2019, aka Cake Oscars, in the Sugar Flowers Category.
